THIS Theatre Poster

For Kindred Theatre Company's production of THIS, a contemporary play by Melissa James Gibson, I was tasked with designing the poster. After reading the script, I was struck by how each character seemed trapped in their own world, confined by their personal struggles and choices. This insight became the foundation of my creative approach. I photographed the cast members myself, capturing their expressions to reflect the peak of their character’s emotional journey. To visually convey the theme of entrapment, I crafted cutouts of each letter in the play's title and had the actors peer through them, creating a striking interplay between text and imagery. The final design is intentionally minimalist, with the large, bold letters and the actors' faces serving as the focal point. This project was particularly rewarding as it allowed me to combine my passion for photography with graphic design, while staying true to the play's narrative and emotional core. I’m proud of how this piece reflects both my creative vision and the essence of the production.
