The White Lotus X
Banana Republic
I had the privilege of serving as the lead designer for an exciting and high-profile collaboration between Banana Republic and HBO’s critically acclaimed series, The White Lotus. Known for its dark humor, intricate storytelling, and exploration of social dynamics within a luxurious resort setting, The White Lotus has become a cultural phenomenon. This partnership positioned Banana Republic—a brand with a rich heritage rooted in travel and adventure—at the forefront of the cultural zeitgeist.
Drawing inspiration from Banana Republic’s archives as a travel outfitter since 1978, the collection featured tropical patterns, utility details, and ultra-packable resort-ready pieces inspired by the landscapes of Thailand. The designs paid homage to the brand’s legacy while seamlessly aligning with the aesthetic and themes of The White Lotus. The campaign starred Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus Season 3) and supermodel Shanina Shaik as the faces of the campaign, adding a layer of star power and authenticity.
As the lead designer, I spearheaded the creation of a cohesive and immersive omni-channel marketing campaign. This included a visually striking homepage takeover that balanced editorial content with shoppable e-commerce, designed to captivate users and drive engagement. I also developed a beautifully curated digital lookbook with ‘Shop the Look’ functionality, enabling customers to seamlessly explore and purchase the collection. Additionally, I created omni-channel assets such as emails, paid media, organic social content, and site elements, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand presence across all touchpoints.
This project was a testament to the power of storytelling through design, blending the worlds of fashion and entertainment to create a truly memorable experience. The collaboration not only celebrated Banana Republic’s travel heritage but also solidified its relevance in contemporary culture, resonating with both loyal customers and new audiences alike.
